Independence Day: July 4, 2011

July 4th, 2011

Happy POST Independence Day!

Thanks to all the elements and influencers that estabished the Freedom and Liberty we enjoy and that worked so hard to free society from the shackles of monarcy and slavery that stood in the way of the rights of the people, whether  they lived up to their lofty words or not (Washington & Jefferson).

We have emerged from several millennia of centuries of struggle and centuries as a nation to stand hopefully united to build a brighter future. Still at times we are divided certainly, but with a strong promise remaining that has often been difficult for us to maintain, protect or defend.

Many thanks also to God-inspired folks like Lincoln that trusted the “better angels of our nature”, to carry us through to new times and opportunities. Yes, we do still face challenges, and continue get it wrong, but we can still succeed in overcoming these obstacles without turning to hopeless hatred and senseless violence.

Happy Independence Day!

Internet World 2011: London

Internet World 2011

Internet World 2011

I was just wondering where the agenda for the online world gets set and lo and behold I found Internet World 2011. My problem is that it just ended and I do not have a working time machine and science has not discovered the key to the Einstien-Rosen Bridge as yet so I am stuck here scurbbing what I can find online and it being Internet World that should work or something is essentially wrong if we have to circumnavigate the planet just to keep on top of the latest web happenings.

I will dig deep into the info that remains and post it here for those that were also unable to jet off to London to attend. In the meantime follow the link below and see what we missed. Being there virtually is something we should be getting used to.

E-Commerce Reality Check 2011

What’s been going on in the E-commerce world? Has Amazon managed to take over and drive everyone else away? Has the economic downturn drained and dried up pocketbooks so throughly that nobody is spending online? Has cyber crime finally scared so many buyers away from online purchasing so as to impact the prospects that were so bright just a few years back?

One thing is sure. Get your buying in before the cash-strapped Federal and State governments come up with new ways and the hubris to finally impose onerous taxes on online retail purchases. According to reports Online retail is set for serious growth if the important variables don’t change too drastically.

The success of App stores may be a sign of the future but also present an opening for the tax option stated.

E-Bay is still rolling in it and penny auctions are attracting buyers looking to score big deals.

Mobile e-commerce seems to be where many of the greatest e-commerce opportunities live for both buyers and sellers. Shopping by smartphone is red hot for a whole variety of reasons. Most web development platforms have implemented shopping cart plains and solutions that have taken the pain and expense out of developing a secure e-commerce presence.

Online entrepreneurs deserve our respect and due consideration. We encourage all efforts to make the users online buying experience safer and much more secure. We implore hackers and cyber criminals to refrain from activities that have the power to slay the Golden Goose of opportunity. Their efforts would be better spent trying to set up legitimate business and use their talents for good.
