DNSChanger Mac & PC Malware hits Monday!

A really nasty piece of malware called DNSChanger is expected to boot many thousands of Mac and PC users off the Internet on Monday July 9th.

The FBI is attempting to shut down domains that have been affected by the DNSChanger malware, which has been circulating the web since as far back as 2007. The malware redirects Internet traffic to sites with paid advertisements where cybercriminals are set to rip them off and reap profits from unsuspecting visitors.

Backstory:  Six Estonian nationals, The trojan’s creators shut down their services when they were caught and were promptly arrested about eight months ago.

The FBI has been advising internet users for months to check if their systems have been affected by DNSChanger still well over 275,000 computers are still at risk of having Internet service access cease Monday, July 9. Please check your system and cross your fingers. We’ll all meet back here on Monday, Lord willing.
