CES 2011 marked the dawn of what seems to be another year of 3D-TV promises and wishful-thinking. Let’s start with myriads of aisles full of slick thin shiny laptops and tons of ultra-something notebooks and netbooks, but this year “tablet computing” was the “elephant in the room” as the more well-heeled and hipper agile menufacturers all tried to find ways to grab their share of attention in “all-in” or “all-out” attempts to eat Apple’s lunch and enter the emerging new market with tablet devices that at times, after a little research, mostly proved to be more vaporware than actual product. We’ll back off and give it a couple of months to let the hype settle and let things marinate to check back and see what’s really cooking. It promises to be eventful year, if not downright epic.
